Swings hold many benefits for babies. They aid in the development of motor functions and help babies become accustomed to new movements. They also strengthen neck, core and hand muscles
What materials do we use?
Polycotton Twill: This is a very durable fabric that does not easily fade when exposed to the sun
Upholstery Thread: This is a strengthened thread that can hold considerable weight. The seams are double stitched to ensure safety
Wooden Poles: 32mm wooden poles are used to create a strong frame for our swing. The poles are sealed to endure harsh weather
White Sash Cord: A 7mm sash cord is used to assemble the swing. The material that the cord is made of is more eco-friendly than the typical plastic swing
About Us
When we welcomed baby Lyla to our family we experienced first-hand how expensive it can be to raise a child. We jealously scrolled through Instagram wishing we could afford the aesthetically pleasing toys, decor and baby clothes posted by moms.
Unfortunately our budget was too tight for such extremities. So we decided that we would use the power of DIY to make our wildest aesthetic dreams come true. After months of sanding, sewing and painting we had created a sanctuary for our little one.
Lyla loves the outdoors and especially loves going to the park. She enjoyed the tire swing at our nearest park but struggled to sit comfortably in it. On top of their lack of ergonomic sensibility, tire swings are ugly and not eco friendly. When searching for ulternatives we found that they were way out of our price range.
So, we decided to DIY it too. Lyla tried our swing out and absolutely adored it. After gifting a few of our homemade swing to Lyla,s friends on their birthdays we realized that other babies loved our swing too! We wanted to share this joy with the rest of the nation. Thus, Swaai was born.
